Stipa calamagrostis

Stipa calamagrostis

Synonym(s): Achnatherum calamagrostis, Lasiagrostis calamagrostis Common Name: 'Rough feather grass'

A clump-forming, deciduous grass with an abundance of showy silvery-white, feathery plumes produced in early summer before turning light buff, and persisting until the first frosts. This is definitely a grass that you grow for its flowers rather than its arching green-bronze foliage. Jun-Sep. H75cm S45cm.

Care Instructions

Requires a medium to light, well-drained, moderately fertile soil in full sun but resents competition so give it a good space.

Plant No: 2870
