Trillium sessileCommon Name: 'Wake-robin'
A choice perennial forming clumps of stems bearing whorls of three, variably mottled, leaves and a single terminal, stemless deep red flower. Apr-May. H30cm S30cm.
Requires a humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil in semi-shade or deep shade and benefits from plenty of added leaf mould. It can be slow to establish and is best left undisturbed to gradually build up a good clump. Not for impatient gardeners.
