Polypodium vulgareCommon Name: 'Common polypody'
This creeping, evergreen fern is a Britsh native. It has narrow erect, leathery dark green fronds and spreads to form a dense clump. H30cm S90cm.
Easily grown in a moderately fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soil in shade or partial shade. It is happy in damp or dry soil and looks particularly useful in dry, shady areas where it can easily form large patches, although it isn't invasive.
