Meconopsis 'Barney's Blue'

A distinctive George Sheriff Group clone. The flowers open purple-pink, gradually changing to blue so that an established clump has a lovely two toned effect. Late May-Jul. H100-125cm S60cm.

Care Instructions

Plant in moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil in an open situation or in partial shade. Keep well-watered in hot, dry weather and sheltered from cold drying winds. Summer drought is the worst “enemy” of these plants but also avoid boggy conditions. Divide every few years in early spring to maintain vigour.

These plants are within the George Sherriff Group and are propagated clonally. The exact colour exhibited by named cultivars within this group may vary at times from deep pure blue to a more lilacy-blue or purple.
