Iris germanica 'Jane Phillips'

Synonym(s): Iris 'Jane Phillips' (TB) Common Name: 'Bearded iris'

AGM. A deservedly popular clump-forming perennial with beautiful large, nicely scented, pale blue flowers on strong stems above strap-like grey-green leaves. Vigorous and free-flowering. May-Jun. H90cm S50cm.

Care Instructions

Best grown in sun and moderately fertile, well-drained soil. Bearded irises like to have their rhizomes baked by the sun so try not to cover this with soil or other foliage. Divide the clumps every so often after flowering to maintain their vigour. Do not over-feed. Papaver 'Karine' and Centranthus ruber 'Albus' make pretty planting partners for a dry sunny site.

Harmful if eaten.

Plant No: 1989
