Common Name: 'Golden shield fern'

AGM. This very large fern is vigorous and easy to grow. It is semi-evergreen and is similar in appearance to Dryopteris filix-mas but is a lighter shade of green. UK native. H90cm S90cm.

Care Instructions

Easy to grow in most cool, moist, lightly shaded sites and will grow in full sun if given plenty of moisture. Tolerant of dry shade but water regularly in their first season and mulch well. It gets its common name from the gold coloured scales on the leaf stems.
