Dicentra spectabilis 'Valentine'

Delicate ferny foliage matures to a glorious, dark grey-green and arching stems carry elegant, scarlet-red, heart-shaped flowers in late spring and early summer. May-Jul. H60cm S50cm.

Care Instructions

Dicentras are happy in any good garden soil that is fertile but not too heavy. Enrich the soil with plenty of leaf mould before planting and apply a mulch in autumn too. Prefers growing in some shade but will tolerate sun if the soil is kept moist. This long-lived perennial dies back after flowering for a period of summer dormancy. Not suitable for windy sites.
