Common Name: 'False indigo'

An upright-growing, deciduous perennial with handsome blue-green foliage, forming compact clumps. Spires of pea-like, rich chocolate-purple flowers followed by dark grey seed pods turning black later, May-Aug. H90cm S60cm.

Care Instructions

Easy to grow and long-lived, it prefers full sun and a fertile, well-drained soil but is drought-tolerant once established. Non-spreading, it looks good in a sunny border but plant it well as they resent disturbance once planted.
