Centaurea stricta
Large, short stemmed, mauve-blue cornflower-like blooms are produced from a flat mat of grey foliage in mid-summer. Jun-Aug. H5cm S15cm.
Care Instructions
It is easy to grow in a well-drained soil in full sun. This is a good plant for a sunny rock garden or scree bed. It benefits from being cut back to the ground after flowering. It forms a spreading clump and is good for combining with larger alpines or smaller herbaceous plants.
