Miscanthus sinensis 'Malepartus'

Common Name: 'Eulalia'

An excellent deciduous, clump-forming perennial grass. It has an upright growth habit and is quicker to establish than most other forms. The fluffy flower panicles are held vertically above the foliage and are a rich, reddish-purple when they emerge, turning silver and then eventually beige. The relatively broad, dark green leaves with white midribs, generally assume good autumn colour. Sep-Oct. H180cm S90cm.

Care Instructions

Grow in any moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil in full sun, but dislikes excessive winter wet. Like all Miscanthus, clumps will benefit from being cut back hard in the spring to encourage new growth.
