Common Name: 'Barrenwort'

A clump-forming, deciduous perennial with heart-shaped, bright green leaves, often flushed red when young, and, from mid-spring into early summer, slender, branched stems bearing pendent, purple flowers with white spurs. Apr-May. H25cm S30cm.

Care Instructions

Plant in fertile, moist but well-drained soil in partial shade. Provide shelter from cold, drying winds. Looks good grown with hostas and ferns.
